Rock Star Stage Names and How Good is Mine ???!!!
What I do like about having my own website is that now when I meet new people, I am amazed about how my new found fame (...idiot!...Ed) has opened up a whole new world for me.
Where ever I go, 2 minutes after meeting new people, they say to me:
“Wow! You really are strange” – to which I always kind of tilt my head in that “aww shucks” sort of way and reply, “Yes, indeed I am”... Although I do notice how a lot of people these days seem to forget to put a question mark at the end of their sentence whenever they ask me that...
Just think about this now... People refer to ME as “Strange”! (...AND???...Ed). This has opened up my world, since I have always wanted to have a proper rock star’s thing of being known only by one name...
Think of the great one name stars....Names you can really get your teeth into, names that sound menacing, threatening but above all...simply brilliant!.... Sting, Slash, Adamski, and errr.. Fish..
Looking into this a bit deeper, I see there are absolutely LOADS of stars all over the world known by one stage name..... a lot of them however are not quite as up to the mark as Slash, Sting or Strange (obviously!):
There is “Belly”, a Canadian rapper, “Blinky”, an American singer, “Dead” a Swedish vocalist who, is, coincidentally.
Others include “Do” a Dutch singer who probably does, "Everlast", an Irish/American rapper whose stage name is probably just misguided optimism, and who can forget the supremely named “FUKO”... the Japanese porn actress and model (what else?).
Moving on through the list, I see there is “Gackt”, the hairball suffering Japanese musician, “Game” (shoot him or buy him a drink?), an American rapper, “Glukoza”, a Russian singer who at least sounds like something you should definitely avoid!
“Hat” and “Sat”, a Norwegian band and French singer respectively..
Other names you could easily find in most medical journals:
“Omnion” a Salvadoran music producer, “Nirala” a Pakistani comedian (Sounds like a sort of bone growth).. “Minmi” Japanese musician and eyelid cyst.. “Ratsy” the American singer songwriter and foot fungus.. “Senthil”, the Indian actor and anti-bacterial throat lozenge.. “Spek” and "Spot" the Canadian HipHop artist and American rapper respectively.... and finally “Traxamillion”, an American rapper whose name quite possibly doubles up as a Betablocker and “Zoxea”, the French rapper and all round Eczema cream.
To be honest, maybe they should all organise one massive get together gig with "Remedy"... That should sort things..
Shame there isn't one called Prevention, if only so I can say "Prevention is better than The Cure"..Sorry...
Another note of interest is the single names that Mexican wrestlers attribute to themselves. Some of these really are awesome and could easily be part of the Filmography of John Carpenter (errr...especially the first one..).... to name a few:
Halloween, Histeria, Magno, Maniaco, Maximo, Mephisto, Virus and my own personal favourite.... Cibernetico!!!
So there we have it... a worldwide list of one name stars – however, I’m still not sure whether I should continue to refer to myself as Strange to all and sundry – Then again, no one has told me I could easily get help for that... which is something I’m sure Gackt and Glukoza can’t say!!!
I'm Andy. I try to make interesting Digital Art. Thank you.
