It is with a heavy heart and a slightly heavier Wheely Bin that I must report the sad news of beloved family member, Mandy the Rat’s demise earlier this week, after a short illness.
She had been suffering from lethargy and general ‘blurrrrghness’ for a couple of weeks, but the family did what any good family would and rallied round to ensure that her last few days were as comfortable for her as possible. That said, obviously her own sister, Mindy, took advantage of Mandy’s plight and continued to steal her rice crackers at every opportunity. We tried to take steps to stop Mindy being so mean to her decrepit and near blind sister by telling her to stay on the top level of her ‘house’ away from the ailing Mandy. Of course, she completely ignored our pleas and simply ran, Usain Bolt-esque, down the stairs of her abode as soon as she could hear Mandy was eating something that SHE wasn’t. She would dive at full speed at Mandy, mouth open and grab the cracker or carrot and in one Jackie Chan style movement, with food in mouth, she would somersault straight into her little blue house, high fiving the top of the door as she went.
Indeed, Mindy was still making up for ‘the early years’ when Mandy was The Big Cheese and beat her own sister up on a regular basis….
But, as any half decent obituary should be, this blog is intended only to inform the world about Mandy’s good points and about how she changed our lives and brought joy into our world.
Errr…. She had a lovely coat and a very hard bite and will be sorely missed. Her sister Mindy appears to have learnt how to laugh and dance – I am sure she is thinking ‘It’s what Mandy would have wanted’!
I'm Andy. I try to make interesting Digital Art. Thank you.
